I Want to Know What Love Is?

7/3/2012

Scripture reference John 15:13 says "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
We often in our human-ness put conditions on our love.  Thank God, He didn't put conditions on giving His one and only Son.  We in no form or fashion deserve the love that God gives and continues to give us.  Yet we will act adversely towards our friends, our spouse, our sisters/brothers because we don't like how they treat us. I know that I am continually confused by the lack of love in marriage. The commitment vows say for better or for worse.  Why would you intentionally make things worse?  If there is a spouse that is ill or with medical disabilities that can be challenging, however it falls under "In sickness & in health".  Even financial issues cause challenge, however it falls under "For richer or poorer".   If you just simply are not being loving (spitefully) because you feel like you are not being loved, then that is creating issues. This goes to personal immaturity and insecurity.  One would hope that when marriage is on the table, honesty & integrity are on the table too!  There should be no personal agenda's - Wealth, Fame, Status, Benefits etc...
Eph 5:25 says "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it: v 28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies.  He that loveth his wife loveth himself. v33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband."  This go back and read fully Ephesians 5. If a life of marriage is what you desire and what God has blessed you with, recognizing love even in its smallest form to your eye(seeing it), ear(hearing it), heart(feeling it), mind(sensing it) will save you heartache.

Half People Make a MESS in Marriage!

Basic Components 4 Marriage: (Here are exploits from the video for clarity)  Talking about, that favorite subject of the human race “Marriage”
Marriage happens to everyone in some way or another – if we parallel partnerships to marriages.  Components of true friendship can be put to the same principals as marriage.  Business relationships can also be put to these principals.  And, that is assuring that we are coming from a Biblical (Christian) point of view; Truth, Honesty & Integrity.
In Marriage both parties must agree on what they will use as a standard for their relationship.  As a Christian I am choosing The Bible.
Okay – What does the Bible say about Marriage?
Are both parties in agreement to what the Bible says about Marriage, how to handle it, who does what, how to take time & then reconnect and so on…?
Communication with each other should almost mimic Gods communication to us.  In other words encourage your spouse in all situations.  The power of Life & death are in the tongue, so why would you curse yourself?
The example of paying a bill – If you pay a bill late there is a penalty.  The penalty is built in so you don’t pay it late – but if you do, there is an extra fee & that is designed as a punishment.  Punishment is not supposed to feel good.  You are supposed to learn to pay on time. (ie. Prepare yourself, plan better, ultimately budget better)
In Marriage there are no Winners or Losers – this would imply you are playing a game and there is competition involved.
The Win Win situation in Marriage is knowing that you have the Victory in God.  The 2 have come together to make 1 in LOVE.  That is the Win – The Victory.  And we know that God is LOVE.
Self inflicted wounds – reaching back to past relationships & measuring the present situation by what had happened.  You are not ready to be in a relationship – Don’t punish yourself & the other person. (This puts resentment( from You) in your present relationship that the other person is not privileged to & you are reacting to them in a way they do not deserve or understand)
If you lack Self-Control, DO NOT GET MARRIED! You are NOT ready!!!

Process - A way/method of execution

6/8/2011

A systematic series of actions directed to some end.  This is the dictionary definition of Process.  Today we seem to think that there is no process, that things just are.  That could not be further from the truth.  Children are born babies and threw the process of growth, age and become adults.  Education starts at birth and threw that process of learning, we develop our intellect.  Without some process, we merely exist without development and eventually we will cease to exist.  Why then do we try to skip the process of living?  It is time for us to embrace "PROCESS" in our lives, homes, education, training, knowledge, relationships, jobs, finances, etc...

Exercising Christ in our Life

5/30/2011

One of the most important things about the exercising of Christ is to start at home.  All the ministries, bible studies, prayer meeting & church meetings are good.  They should not come before your home ministry.  Your relationship with God & the application of your relationship should be visible in your home & family life.  Inline your home life & relationship with God 1st.
